ASEAN Kpop Cover Dance Competition 2015

Right so as many of you guys know that I've recently flown over to Jakarta to represent Singapore in the ASEAN Kpop cover dance competition 2015.

I'll say its amazing and by far the worse travel withdrawal I had yet. And the best thing is that I only slept for 9 hours for the whole 3d2n trip. If you're close to me, you will know how much I need sleep and how much I value sleeping. So this was literally a record for me and I really applaud myself.

We flew on Saturday and we almost missed our flight. AHAHAHAH

Our flight was 10.20am so we went in at around 9.30am walked up to Texas chicken at 9.40am so we decided to eat there. But Jmin was like hey you know gate closes at 10? So we decided to take away instead.

And we did, but Jmin's wrap took forever. I asked the rest to head to the gate first while me and Jmin waited for the wrap. They said it will take 5mins but nope. It was done at around 9.58?!

So we ran to our gate. Legit ran. It was like my first time running to the gate in Singapore la wtf is this. And on the way we met the rest they were still strolling LOL. So I told them gate closing and we ran. We probably created a scene that will make people wondering if we were shooting for a drama or a movie. LOL

But yay we didn't miss our flight and we reached JKT at around 2+. & was welcomed by the organizers at the airport. I didn't reply to their line messages (oops) so it is still a mystery how they knew we're DeScrew LOL. The members was like oh maybe is our dressing. (SWAG)

We filmed some introduction video and man it was awkward... CAUSE WE ONLY HAD 4 OF US /CRIES

They helped us to get a private car to the hotel and we took like around 30-40+ minutes due to the jam. But it wasn't the worse as it wasn't the peak hours yet. Nah not going to imagine how jam-ish it will be if we encountered the peak hour. kthxbye

And then we wanted to check in but was told that there were only double beds left. So we decided to check in later for the twin beds and to walk around the mall. Mal Ciputra.

IT WAS HUGE ASS HUGE. Like around 10 levels and too many shops bro. And they were also having the rounds to select the Indonesian teams to compete with us the next day. Their costumes too zai. 100 for effort given. And we met Fuxion at the mall woohoo long time no see but see you later at the dinner.

We walked for about 2hours and we went to check in~

We nua-ed for a bit and waited for Yan to arrive to attend the welcome dinner together.

It was really nice to see everybody again after a year! And so glad that they are there again with us. ㅠㅠ Went back to our rooms after dinner for awhile and got ready for our rehearsal.

And like I recieved the news of us being first, I cursed straightaway. Oops sorry. Because of burden crews /coughs/ we had to do our rehearsal last at like what 12mn++? And once our rehearsal was done we went back to the hotel to get more rooms and arranged for breakfast the next day at 9am. But I don't really eat breakfast so I have no idea why did I woke up for that. Okay. I know because of Fel AHAHAHAHAH

We obviously didn't sleep once we got back because we are the gossip neighbours yeah 916/917. We slept at like what 3am and woke up at like 8am. Thanks Fel...

We went to practise for a while in the dance studio at the hotel before getting back to our rooms again for a few hours. Waiting for the competition to start by talking crap, sewing, trying the quick change, talking more crap.

So we were the first team thus we had to get ready the earliest but like everyone was supposed to be ready by 2pm when the competition supposingly starts at 5. LOL but okay we have time to take photos with every team! Except for the shadow boys... Sorry ㅠㅠ

And we went to perform! It was pushed forward and we performed at like 4+ and omg I swear Indonesia has the best crowd. The whole first floor stage area was filled and like every floor of the mall facing the stage is filled too. I feel so loved. 💕

Everyone was calling the contestants Unnie/Oppa regardless of their gender and age LOL. I really feel like a Kpop star, the audience is just daebak. You will never feel it in Singapore. Indonesia is different level really, the screams fanchants shouts are the best.

I even received a random gift. Some girl just hold up a plushie and I took it asking her to who, she was like you. I was stunned for a moment and like me? Pointing to myself. LOL and she was nodding like mad so I was like thank you so much 😍

And like I high-5 the crowd like free and took photos with them calling me unnie. Eh I know I'm 20 already but you sure I older then you? And I got hit on my lips because everyone was pushing towards me when I was going out of the crowd. Oi, very rude okay.

But its okay, I only experience it once and the crowd is really good. I regretted not taking more photos ㅠㅠ sorry next time okay!

Even though we didn't win, I feel that this experience is really worth it. Just by heading to Jakarta. And I'm surprised people actually know DeS Crew overseas! Thank you everybody~

And yay meeting D-motion again! See you next year probably? Hehe

And we went back to our hotel to put down our stuffs and headed over to the mall's food court for supper/dinner. Almost every team was there so we literally "CHEERS" to every group hehe. But the food was super slow because all of us ordered from the same stall as the other stalls were closed. /hungrymadme

Then we went back to our rooms while they ordered beer and was wondering what to do. Initially we wanted to Karaoke but I have no idea why we didn't. In the end most of the groups just gathered in one of the Defalven's room to just chill. It was quite awkward so we played Kpop charades and they damn funny. AHAHAHHAHAHA When the song Ugly came up for a Se-on member the others was like You You You. OMG I SWEAR THEY DAMN BAD BUT IT WAS DAMN FUNNY AHAHAHHAHA

Just to chill, that's what they said but in the end they keep drinking until they were xiao drunk and they were playing dares. /cue me leaving the room

So we ordered room service for some pastas hehe not bad quite nice and cheap

And they finally decided to end their games at like what 4am so this called for some photos

Nope I did not sleep and we had some mask time hehe Jmin came for awhile to use our hairdryer LOL before she left so we slept at around 5am.

And then again we woke up at 8am for breakfast... zzz AHAHHAHA

After breakfast Fel and I decided to head to the salon while the rest either to nua in the hotel or walk around the mall and yay salon was cheap. But it was so slow. I swear they do everything so slow you just want to walk out of the shop. However they are really friendly and nice so I guess the service made up for it.

Because of it being so slow, we ran back to our hotel room to check out. Legit ran AHAHAHHAHA Found some awesome lighting before we checked out so cue family photoshoot feel gossip neighbours 916 917

We checked out our rooms and decided to have some last minute shopping in the mall.

But again we meet the other groups at the lobby so we had to take photos with everyone. Again.

And again.

But finally we manage to head to the mall. FINALLY. So I went shopping hehe.

I swear the service staff does everything so slowly it makes you hate them when you're in a rush and they aren't very educated in English so you will have a very hard time conversing in English with them.

And I regretted getting a dirty bag for $30 zzz sian but its okay once in a while. PS. I only shop online or overseas. It been so long since I've shopped in Singapore. :(

We took a cab to the airport and the jam seriously... What's worse was when the cab driver dropped us off at the wrong terminal. Zzzz luckily there was a free shuttle bus service which transfers people to the other terminals.

And off we went! I really don't know what wrong with the customs. Apparently the max weight being allowed on board was 7kg but mine was 11kg. LOL.

So they asked me to take out some stuffs before entering the customs. And I wore my blazer took out some stuffs to hand carry and pass some to Fel to keep in the bag JUST TO PASS THE IMMIGRATION AND THE WEIGHT CHECK.

After that, I had to put everything back into my luggage again. Like bro what's the point. Oh wells, and we saw the other teams again but thank god we didn't take any more photos if not it really will be never ending seriously.

And we left for home ❤️

We arrived and it was quite scary because Jmin was denied entry to Singapore. She only had a travel pass but she has been in Singapore for quite a while. So she has to head back to Korea. :(((

But she is safe and back to clubbing at Korea! sighs she is seriously crazy ahahahah

We went to have some 4fingers before we all headed home to catch some sleep. I slept for 15 hours till the next day. Hehehe.

All I can say about this trip is that it was awesome. I made new friends, and grew closer to my crew members. As well as performed in a country with friendly people and amazing crowd. To view our performance, check out these two videos from different angles!

KPOP ASEAN FESTIVAL/ KSTARFANFEST COMPETITION

Yayyy, so DeSTRICT was one of the Singapore Representative for the competition, along with A-ero.

The competition was held last Saturday at MBS, together with all the other ASEAN kpop dance cover representatives.

The whole road was so tiring, having intern in the day and dance training at night.

And we did it for 5 consecutive days, so can you imagine if I didn't take leave on Wednesday.

I'll be dead tired man.

We met at 11.30am at MBS, and well Yan and YQ were late so me Irfan and Yus went to toast box to get my breakfast.

Yes breakfast for me only 😏

Toast box is the only affordable option that I can afford for breakfast there. Sorry.

So we went into the holding area and some groups were already there.

(The same holding area as Girls Day & B1A4 😏)

And we just said hi.

IT WAS SO AWKWARD I SWEAR.

Then I-generation came in and they're surprisingly friendly.

At that time, only me and Yan were inside so we both bowed to every member and shook hands with them. (9 people lmao)

It was getting more awkward so we decided to walk around the k-exhibitions.

And we saw like other groups coming.

All of them are like dressed damn swag-ly wtf is my dressing man.

Its like swag and then those 走路有风kind.

They all were so strong, I was so nervous that I was trembling backstage.

And I did quite a lot of wrong on stage.

Was so disappointed in myself that I broke down once I reached back stage.

We're not in the top 3, but I'm so glad that we're given a chance to participate in this competition.

After the competition, we went to Chinatown to have KFC with the DeS people. (LMAO FAST FOOD EVERY SINGLE DAY)

And we saw Dafvalen, which were staying in Chinatown too.

So Haelim Unnie directed them and like Heewon Unnie suggested to ask them to come to our kpop party at night when we're eating.

So me Fel, Haelim Unnie and Yus went to find them, which apparently they're not staying in the hostel Unnie thought they were in.

Fel was like, okay if its fate we'll see them.

We walked along the streets of Chinatown to Chinatown point and we saw the Malaysian team, Fuxion.

(Fel was like OMG FATE to me LMAO)

We invited them and they said they'll drop by, and directed us to the hostel that Dafvalen was staying also.

I swear whenever I talk to Malaysians in Chinese, my Malaysian Chinese accent will confirm come out omg.

Naturally I swear.

So we waited for them, and invited them.

They were talking among themselves in Thai omg.

I told Fel that I think they will not drop by, and she's in denial.

LMAO.

Truly, they didnt but Fuxion did.

We had an amazing night, we both did an encore of our performance and we did Mirotic together.

Thanks for agree-ing to form this group together with everyone in the first place. Its been less than a year and see how far we had grown, and what we've all achieved.
