Korean Night Festival 6 has ended, and DeSTRICT was the winner for the dance category.
There was a lot of mixed feelings, and we're really shocked that we won the competition.
We really didn't expected it because all the other dance groups were much stronger in all the aspects than us.
Yes, we know that there're are groups that do not deserve their placing and we do not deserve to win.

Well, what are we? We met through mutual friends, and went to Studio De S for an audition to be in their crew.
And we got in.
I was the one who get to know about the competition, and I was the one who asked the rest of the members to join this competition with me.
And after two months, we're at the finals for KNF6.
The winner of the dance and sing category will get to Korea, well that's what we were told on Saturday.
But what the organizers did not inform us, that there is another online voting semi-final round, involving both dance and sing categories in 15 countries. Only the top 15 will get to Korea.
Up till now, we're not being contacted by the organizers.

Regarding the results, we've heard and seen quite a lot of hate through social media channels.
There are some issues I would like to clarify about.

Studio De S

Yes, we're from Studio De S, De S Crew.
They provided DeSTRICT a place for our trainings, if the studio is not available, we'll be practising at Scape fifth floor.
The dance, song choices, formations, ideas and such are all done by us.
Not the instructors at DeS.
I know that they are the sponsors for KNF6. But how can the organizers gave every group their placing and our placing just because we're from DeS?
The instructors are not any of the judges in the finals, they were all involved in their own performance for the concert.
They are only at their booth for their carnival, at the holding area together with us and the other contestants and at the second floor of the hall after their performance.
So, I really don't get why is politics in this picture.

Powder

We got inspired by Step Up, the movie and thus we decided to use the powder for the effect.
For the use of the powder, we've informed the organizers before the start of the rehearsals in the morning.
The organizers were the ones who went around asking each groups whether they had props in the piece and we told them that we are using powder. And we told the staff to clean up the stage after our turn because there was still a last group after us, Power of Six.
The staff told us that she will take care of it so we thanked her.
During the rehearsal, we wanted to try out the powder but our turn was being cut short as the rehearsal was delayed and thus the contestants weren't able to mark the stage as well as rehearse finish their piece.
At night, just as we are about to go upstage, the backstage staff told us that the floor is more slippery than it was during the rehearsal.
Due to the smoke machine and the bubble machine, the floor is more slippery so he told us to be careful when we dance.
So we were thinking, but we're using powder isn't that more slippery? When we asked if they are able to clear the powder before the next group, the staff said it is not possible.
We did apologised to Power of Six after their turn, and we really could't believe why did they got their placing.
They should be placed before us.
And so what are the staffs doing from 10am till 7pm with the issue on hand? Whut.
We know that it was our fault for using powder, but we really did informed the organizers beforehand.

Judges Comment
We're really interested in knowing their comments as well.
What was the results for each group, and really comments from each judge, not just Patricia Mok. What she said was just regarding about the powder lmao. No, the whole article is about it.
And what is she talking about when the other dance groups with no props? There is what walao. Based on her comment, its just the powder and our energy.
So, what is a dance competition when we our not judged on our dance?
Its like winning a latin competition or a hiphop competition based our costumes.
Seriously. I swear the organizers should have a judges comment section, where we can hear what each of the judge thinks about each group.
Thank you.

So, I wish I had cleared some issues misunderstood. If you want to ask more questions, direct them to http://ask.fm/paperboo . Its very hurtful to see the hate comments on social media platforms. I know its your account, your freedom of speech, but have you thought of our feelings?
